Funeral services for Linda L. Morrison, 79, of Branson, will be held August 22, 2026, at the Hollister church of Christ, followed by a graveside service at Smith Chapel church of Christ in Gainesville.
Linda passed away peacefully from this world on August 18. Linda was born on Sept. 25, 1946, to James R. Locke and Ruth Mary Price Locke. She grew up in Dallas, TX, graduating from Lake Highlands High School.
Linda met her future husband, Tom Morrison, at Abilene (Texas) Christian College, and they were married on Aug. 23, 1968, in Dallas, Texas.
After college graduation, she taught elementary education while Tom completed his medical school education.
Tom and Linda eventually moved to Tanana, Alaska, to provide medical care to the Alaska Natives. Linda was a homemaker during this time, taking care of their two boys.
In 1983, Tom and Linda moved to Branson where they opened the first ophthalmology practice in the Tri-lakes area. They served the Branson and surrounding communities for over 35 years before retiring. Linda served as the practice manager from day one until retirement. They loved serving the community and working alongside many wonderful employees that become lifelong friends.
They enjoyed every minute of retirement, especially spending time with their six grandchildren.
Linda’s example and service as a Christian was clearly seen by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved serving as a Bible class teacher at the church of Christ. She also served as a mentor to many young women. Her sweet and kind disposition was adored by all who knew her.
She loved being a Christian wife and mother, with an ever-present example of demonstrating love and care for her family.
Linda is survived by her father-in-law Dr. Winsor V. Morrison; sister-in law Katherine Morrison-Meeker-Cohen and husband Jack; brother-in-law Dr. Michael Morrison and wife Missy; sons Dr. Aaron Morrison and wife Brittany; and Steven Morrison and wife Abbey; and six grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Tom, her brother James R. Lock, and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hollister church of Christ for use in missions and assisting those in need.
