Sherryl Ramey, age 74 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in her home. She was born August 26, 1947, in Springfield, MO, to Lawrence “Jimpson” and Margaret Mae (Cribbs) Griffitts. She graduated from Marion C. Early High School Class of 1965. She is a member of the Bolivar First Assembly of God Church and loved being part of the WM’s group at church.
Sherryl is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Robert Allen; one brother Larry Griffitts; and a sister Judy Boyd.
Sherryl is survived by her husband of 43 years, Phil of the home; three sons: Chris Hampton (Nickie) of Morrisville, MO, Mike Hampton (Nikki) of Willard, MO, and Aaron Ramey (Sara) of Bokeelia, FL; two step-children: Trina Cowan (Chuck) of Willard, MO, and Mark Ramey (Shea) of Springfield, MO; 13 grandchildren; one brother Rick Griffitts (Teresa) of Bolivar, MO; one sister in-law Anna Lea Griffitts of Morrisville, MO; three nephews and two nieces; great nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 9:30 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. Services will be held at 11:00 am following the visitation with Pastor Hutson Goza officiating. Sherryl was always such a happy, kind and caring person. I have many memories of her from 4-H, where her mom was our cooking leader, and attending school together. The world has lost a very special person. She will be missed.
