Lisa Ann Bernet
July 15, 1969 – March 21, 2026
Lisa Ann Bernet, age 56, of Fair Grove, Missouri, passed away on March 21, 2026 after an almost five year long battle with cancer. She was born on July 15, 1969 in Springfield, MO, to Saundra Fesperman Roper and Howard Huff.
Lisa was the glue for her community and served and volunteered on the Foundation of Fair Grove Public Schools, Fair Grove Chamber of Commerce, Care to Learn, Heart to Heart, the Historical and Preservation Society, school bond issues, the schools tornado shelter, the school board, worked in the school’s central office, and even serving as Ms. Claus and the Easter Bunny. Because of her heartfelt contributions and dedication, December 1st, 2018 was declared Lisa Bernet Day in Fair Grove, Missouri.
Lisa’s family remembers her as a jill of all trades: the best person for advice, accomplished quilter, master flower gardener, incredible cook, and very best Giggy (grandma). Lisa was an entrepreneur. She became a certified yoga instructor and then built a real estate portfolio over 25 years and fixed a plethora of dilapidated properties. The mark she leaves will be felt far and wide.
She is survived by her mother, Saundra Fesperman Roper; her husband of 24 years, Rob Bernet; their children: Dorian Bernet, Emily Bernet, Luke Bernet (Brandi), Katie Fender (Matt), Michael Thomas (Katie); nine grandchildren: Adam Herzalla, Calvin Fender, Claire Fender, Jude Bernet, Sage Thomas, Emma Thomas, Josephine Bernet, Aurora Bernet, and Addy Thomas; two sisters: Leslie Tilman and Sara Huff; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Fair Grove High School Gymnasium on April 12th, at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Fair Grove Area Community Foundation, and organization that Lisa helped create and served as the board’s founding president.
