Lisa Marie Merritt went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 10, 2019. Lisa was born on January 18, 1986 in Brandon FL. Her family moved to Springfield, Missouri in July of 1986.
Lisa accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior when she was 5 years old. She attended Willard for the duration of her schooling. While attending Willard High School, she became very involved the music department. Lisa had a beautiful voice and enjoyed sharing music with those she loved. Lisa graduated in 2004 and continued on to the University of Arkansas and Southwest Baptist University.
If you had the privilege of being loved by Lisa, you knew just how deeply she loved. Her compassion to help others and give to those in need was equally as deep as her love. Her spunky, sarcastic and playful personality kept gatherings exciting and spontaneous. She always had a quick-witted line bringing laughter to those around her. Her smile was very contagious and brought life into a room. She also knew the art of comforting others in their time of pain and suffering. Her compassion knew no end.
Lisa took great care to spend time with her family every time there was an opportunity. She especially loved the Honor of being called Auntie Lisa. Her nieces Taryn and Aspen, and nephews Ethan and Alan Jude brought so much joy to her life. Her eyes lit up when she was in the presence of the four of them, and she took great joy in showering them in her love and gifts.
Lisa is survived by her parents Bob and Angie Merritt of Springfield, MO; sister Jenifer Lynch of Buffalo, MO; brother Richard and Amanda Merritt of Hickory, NC; nieces Taryn Lynch and Aspen Merritt; nephews Ethan Lynch and Alan Jude Merritt; grandparents John and Wanda Bunch of Haines City, FL, 6 uncles, 6 Aunts, 21 cousins and many countless friends who loved her, and were loved by her.
In 2010 Lisa was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and battled Diabetes for 9 years. Her family has requested that you donate to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.
