He was born on April 13, 1926 in Shell Rock, IA the son of Earl and Cora Avery. He was a retired farmer and security guard. He had been a resident of the area for the past 10 years.
He is survived by his son: Terry Avery of Sumner , IA., two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Allen Avery and his sister, Norma Kuker.
