Lloyd “Jay” Wilson was born on February 9, 1928 to the late Lloyd A. and Lillian (Detwiler) Wilson in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He passed away on March 7, 2011 in the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri at the age of 83.
He was united in marriage to Christine Lackie on December 9, 1950. Jay proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Jay was employed with Outdoor Advertising Sales for over 40 years before his retirement. In his spare time Jay enjoyed bowling and playing the piano. He was a member of Glendale Christian Church.
Survivors include his loving wife Christine Wilson of Ozark; children Brian Wilson and wife Rebecca of Nixa and Brenda Stegeman and husband Christopher of Jefferson City; five grandchildren Brittany, Halie and Allison Stegeman and Hunter and Carly Wilson; siblings Arlene Bailey and Stanley Wilson both of Michigan; numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Leonard Wilson.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with visitation beginning prior to the service at 12:30 pm. Inurnment will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
