Lois Evadean Bolin Grant was born on June 19, 1929 in Bois D’ Arc, MO to Orville Bolin and Eula Glidewell Bolin who have both preceded her in death. She went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Friday, September 20, 2013 at the age of 84.
A lifelong minister’s wife, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, all of her family and the Dale Street Baptist Church family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her husband, Alfred, of 54 years, preceded her in death. She is survived by her four children: Judy Pelley and Rick, Debbie Morris and Dave, Fred Grant, and Jacquetta Davidson and John. She has thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Lois has one sister, Reathel and five brothers: Howard, Wayne, Melvin, Charlie, and Lee.
On a personal note, Mom/Nani was an excellent cook. She enjoyed fixing fried chicken for her family and many Baptist Bible College students, who often lovingly called her Momma Grant. Her grandchildren remember their Nani always having each of their favorite foods to eat. She never got tired of fixing bacon sandwiches and cheesy hotdogs.
For the last eleven years, Mrs. Grant worked as a volunteer as a church secretary for Dale Street Baptist Church. She loved this position and our family would like to say “thank you” for allowing our mother to still be a part of His work. Her sweet spirit, laughter and smile will be greatly missed by all who knew our mother.
Memorial Services for Lois will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with Pastors Leland Burch and Jason Reaves officiating. Burial will be in Grant’s Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday, September 23, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
