Mrs. Jean Choate, age 93 of Bolivar, MO, formerly of Pleasant Hope, MO, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, at Citizens Memorial Hospital Bolivar, MO. She was born April 9, 1925, in East Lake, CO, to Charlie and Montalee (Caldwell) Farmer. Jean moved to Ash Grove, MO, at the age of three months old in a model-T with her parents and brother. She attended SBU and received her teaching degree and taught school at: Hasten, Blackoak, and Rock Prairie one-room schools.
Jean was a member and attended Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church, and was saved there in her early 20’s. She was united in marriage to Willard Mack Choate April 16, 1950, and to this union three sons were born.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willard; and her brother Charles Farmer, Jr..
She is survived by her sons: Kenneth Choate of Bolivar, MO, Ronnie Choate and his wife Debbie, and Mike Choate and his wife Cathy all of Pleasant Hope, MO; four grandchildren: Brad Choate and wife Kim, Brent Choate and wife Lyndsey, Tyler Choate and wife Makenzie, and Julie Choate and fiancée Nathan Warner; five great grandchildren; a sister in-law Betty Farmer of Aurora, MO; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church Pleasant Hope, MO. Burial will follow at Rock Prairie Cemetery.
