Lola Marjorie Gerard, age 93, of Branson, MO passed away peacefully on December 22, 2013. Lola was born July 5, 1920 in Cross Roads, MO to Bryan and Hattie Gott.
Lola graduated from Ava High School. She married the love of her life, Raymond Gerard in 1942. They began their lifetime business in 1948 in Clever, MO, as owners and operators of a small general store. In 1955, she and Ray moved to Branson, MO where they owned and operated Hart’s Supermarket for many years. After retiring, they enjoyed playing golf, playing cards with friends, and traveling.
Lola was an active member of the Branson Christian Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Branson Library Club, and PEO.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, and her beloved husband, Raymond Gerard.
She is survived by a son, Doug Gerard and his wife Carol of Walnut Shade, MO, a daughter, Janice Clarry and husband Mel of Gilbert, AZ; two brothers, Wayne Gott of Salem, MO and Wallace Gott of Upland CA; four grandchildren, Kevin Gerard and his wife LaCinda, Bryan Gerard and his wife Kaylene, Geoff Clarry, Heather Master and her husband Jim; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Gerard, Amy Gerard, Gable Stallings and Haylie Stallings.
As a family, we are so blessed to have had such a great mother and grandmother that left an amazing legacy.
A celebration of Lola’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, MO.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions can be made to CAM or Branson Christian Church.
