Lon Wm. Smith, age 74, of Saddlebrooke, Mo., passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in his home. He was born March 8, 1936, in Springfield, Mo., to Albert and Alta (Carter) Smith.
He attended Tri-Lakes Church in Branson. Lon retired from Assemblies of God Gospel Publishing House. He was a frustrated architect; he enjoyed collecting antiques and he never met a stranger. Lon’s greatest passion was sharing his faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lewis and Alta Estelle Smith; and one brother, John Smith.
He is survived by wife, Eliza Jane Smith, of Saddlebrooke, Mo.; two daughters, Kim Brower and husband Tim, of Nixa; and Kari Smith, of Saddlebrooke; two grandchildren, Max and Sam Brower; sister, Doris Jean Smith, of Springfield; nephew, Steve Smith, of the state of Virginia; and sister-in-law, Goldie Smith, of Springfield.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Mo., with Reverend David Betzer and Reverend Brian Wiseman officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Africa’s Children Assemblies of God World Missions. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo.
