Loreta Mae Bishop passed away peacefully on January 12, 2019 at Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Ash Grove, Missouri.
Loreta was born August 10, 1920 in Milo Missouri to Lewis and Nettie Gowin. She married James W. Bishop in 1936 in Ft. Scott Kansas. Together they had four children; Sally Mae (deceased), James L., Edward C., and Larry Joe.
Loreta and Jim lived in the Springfield area most of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, husband Jim, one great grandson, one daughter in law, six brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by her three sons; Jim (Anna Mae), Ed and Joe, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grand children, and six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Loreta worked in and around Springfield as a waitress, Green Stamp Store (20+years), and as a volunteer for St. Johns and Mercy Hospital until she was unable to work any longer.
Funeral Services will be held on January 17, 2019 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. with funeral to follow. Interment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery
