Loretta June Goodwin died October 1, 2013 in Mercy Hospital. She died from complications of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, which was diagnosed in 2007. She was born June 30, 1942 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Albert and Cora Jane (Albertson) Bass. She married Kenneth P. Goodwin June 8, 1957 in Pittsburg, Kansas. They had three children, Kenneth Paul and Cara Goodwin of Yukon, Oklahoma, Roger Wayne Goodwin of Willard, Missouri, and Terri Kay and John Farelli of Italy. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William, Jim and Charles. She is survived by her husband and children, as well as nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In 1972, along with her husband, Kenneth, they owned and operated Goodwin’s Seatcovers until the time of her death. Loretta was a published author and photographer. She was an honorary life member of the Springfield Writer’s Guild and past member of the Missouri Writer’s Guild. Surviving Loretta, in addition to her husband, children and grandchildren are brothers, Albert Jr., Billy and George; two sisters, Alice Stewart and C. J. Gideon. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 2-4 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn North, Springfield, Missouri. She has requested cremation. No burial is planned at this time.
