Loretta M. Jackson, age 83, of Springfield, MO, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 in her home. She was born August 4, 1930, in Strafford, Mo, to Ray and Daisy (Butler) Gardner. She received a Bachelor Degree in writing from Missouri State University. Loretta worked in the mail room for Division of Family Services. She enjoyed watching her birds, she was an avid amatuer writer and photographer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Jackson; her parents, Ray and Daisy Gardner; two children, Elizabeth Jackson and Stephen Jackson; two brothers, Clifford Gardner and Bobby Gardner; and two sisters, Doris Chandler and Annabelle Courtois. She is survived by her four children, Rebecca Densmore, Springfield, MO, Shirley Plumb of Springfield, Esther Storm of Springfield, David Jackson of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Herman, Sheila, Amanda, James, Daniel, Michelle, and Melissa; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Scott, Preston, Aiden, Chad, Landen, Shawn, and Hunter; one sister, Wilma Jackson of Walnut Grove, MO; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will be held in Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
