Louis “Hawk” Winston, 79, Springfield, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Cox Medical Center South. He was born in Springfield on March 14, 1933, the only child of Henry and Eugenia (Jones) Winston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a cousin, Thomas Barrett.
Louis is survived by his children, Rita Tyson, Derrick Winston, Eric Winston, Audrey Green and her husband LaVell, Lewis Johnson, and Tammy Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., just prior to the service.
