Louise A. Manley, age 77, of Springfield, MO, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 in Magnolia Square. She was born March 11, 1934, in Sligo, MO, to Vernon and Grace (Walker) Sturdivant.
She was a member of the Cherry Street Baptist Church. She liked collecting salt and pepper shakers and planting tulips but, her greatest love was being a housewife.
Her husband, Joseph Doneldson Manley; one son, Billy Joe Manley; parents, Vernon and Grace Sturdivant; three brothers, Vernon Robert, Delmer and Donald Lee Sturdivant; one sister, Alma Hoggard; one grandson, Ryan Cox; and one granddaughter, Desirea Cox preceded her in death.
She is survived by six daughters, Christine Kinsey and husband, Harold of Springfield, Patsy Wood of Pleasant Hope, Debbie Campbell and husband, Johnnie of Billings, MO., Karen Warden and husband, Terry of Fort Smith, AR., Sharon Cobb and husband, Stefan of Marshfield, Barbara Brady and husband, Jeff of Springfield; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dorman and Gene Sturdivant; one sister, Dorma Lee Yates; and host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. John Page officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 also in the funeral home.
