Louise H. Bruner went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 11, 2010, after spending a short time in St. John’s Hospital. Louise was born September 1, 1916, in Oblong, Illinois, to W.K. and Orla Henry. She grew up and graduated from High School in Oblong.
She moved to Chicago where she attended and graduated from Moser Business College. She worked as secretary at Campbell Soup Co., which was headquartered in Chicago. She met the “love of her life” Olen Bruner and they were married in Chicago, November 19, 1941. Out of this union came two children, Barbara and Russell. Louise became a full-time homemaker.
Louise and Olen relocated to Springfield, Mo., in 1965. Louise was preceded in death by husband, Olen, January 20, 1987; her brothers, Harold and Bill Henry; also her 13 year old granddaughter, Denise.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Day-Walden (husband Steve), of Springfield; son, Russell (wife Rene), of Leesburg, Florida; her granddaughter, Jessica Genco (husband Chris) and two great-granddaughters, Juliet and Riley, all of Wesley Chapel, Florida. Also Louise’s grandson, Jason Bruner, Alexandria, Va.
Visitation is set for Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 1 p.m., and funeral service is at 2 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home East, followed by burial in the White Chapel Cemetery.
