Louise King, age 94, of Springfield, MO, left this world with her family by her side on July 27th, 2026. Louise was born on December 15th, 1931, in Springfield, MO, to Mary and J.R. Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters Bill, Jimmie, Rosie, Buster, Bud, Johnny, and Virginia; her niece who she raised, Kristina Moore; and dear friends Fred, Rosetta Stone, Anne, Sharron, and Bea.

She is survived by her daughter, Donnis, and husband, Bert Stone; grandchildren Mike Stone (Ella) and Michelle Brooks (Jason); great-grandchildren Tara Joy (Jaxon), Katie Brooks, Kyle Stone, and Mikaela and Andrew Brown; and her dear friends Tom and Debbie.

Louise was known for bringing people together around the table, whether it was making her goulash or baking her chocolate bread. She loved to cook and bake for her family, filling her home with all the delicious smells as soon as you walked in the door. Her kitchen was a place where love was expressed through every meal she placed on her table. She also enjoyed playing dominos with her two best friends, Fred and Rosie Stone; these three created countless memories filled with laughter and somewhat friendly competition.

Louise “Nan” found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, and her playful spirit will leave a lasting impression on all who knew her.

The family would like to thank everyone at Republic Nursing and Rehab and Preferred Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Louise. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be made in Louise’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30th, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with services to follow at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Interment will follow the services in Bellview Cemetery.
