Lucille Mae Griffin, 81, of Springfield, MO passed away December 10, 2011 in Jordan Creek Nursing Home. She was born June 23, 1930 in Reeds Spring, MO to Charlie and Beulah Grosbeck. She was married to Virgil L. Griffin and in their household they had shared one child and two step children.
Lucille was a very talented woman. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and tomato gardening. She was an avid Bible reader and liked doing puzzles. Lucille also had a special relationship with the neighborhood cats.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Jake Griffin; and a step-daughter, Pauletta Choate.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Michelle Edwards; one grandson, Chance Melton; three great-grandchildren, Lacey Kendrick, Jake Kendrick, and Michael Edwards, Jr.; two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Lee and Bowin Arrow; a step daughter, Jenny Marcy; a daughter-in-law, Bev Griffin; a son-in-law, Paul Choate; several other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with interment to follow at 2 p.m. in Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
