Lydia Ann Mitchell, age 70, of Springfield, MO passed away at her home on Saturday April 23, 2016. She was born in Springfield, MO at the old Burge Hospital. She spent her early years in Elkland, and later graduated from Marshfield in 1964. Lydia worked many years for Cox Health Systems at the Walnut Lawn location. Lydia loved the Lord, her family and everyone she knew. She loved all aspects of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Penn and Theresa Penn; and her daughter Patricia. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, James P. Mitchell; Children: Bonnie (Wesley) Thomas and Debbie (Bob) Stroup, both of Willard; Harold Peck, Jr of Virginia; and Jimmy (Rachel) Mitchell of Seattle; Erin (Toby) Jones of Texas; 14 grandchildren: Heather, Sarah, Chelsie, Dellany, Phillip, Emma, Abbie, Nicholas, Makenna, Kieran, Tristan, Conner, and Logan; great-grandchildren: Bryce, Noah, Raelyn, Peyton and one on the way; brothers: Ray (Kay) Penn, Donnie (Ann) Penn, Ronnie (Janice) Penn, Tim (Janet) Penn; one sister Roxie (Dan) Garton; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousin, plus many close friends and acquaintances.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening April 26 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 am., with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Brother Roy Ralph will be the officiant.
