Marcia Ruth Melton, age 96, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Marantha Village. She was born March 9, 1929 in Phillipsburg, MO, to Claude and Iva Cunningham. Marcia Ruth Melton, age 96, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Marantha Village. She was born March 9, 1929 in Phillipsburg, MO, to Claude and Iva Cunningham. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1946, in Springfield, MO to James Dea Melton. Ruth served with James in the ministry at several area churches, retiring in 2007. During her years of service Ruth also worked for Edco of Springfield.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Ronald Dea Melton; and two brothers. She is survived by one son, Richard (wife Gail); two grandchildren, Kimberly and Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Taylor; five great-great-grandchildren; and family.
The funeral service for Marcia will be December 15, 1:30 pm, Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO, followed by the burial at Clear Creek Cemetery.
