Margret Ann Atnip, 92, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Margret Ann Atnip, 92, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 16, 1932, in Piedmont, Missouri, Margret was the daughter of Alfred and Freida (McAllister) Landing. She was a devoted wife to the late William “Bill” Henry Atnip, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.
Margret spent nearly two decades working as a skilled seamstress. Outside of work, she found joy in fishing, gardening, and baking. Her green beans, homemade pies & rolls, and jellies were a treasured family tradition.
Margret was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Reno and Janet Burnett (Jerry); three grandchildren, Stephanie Reeves (Robert Eric), Jeni Reno (Harmony Tenneson), and Dillon Burnett; and her great-grandson, Aiden Reeves.
Margret was preceded in death by her sister, Martha White and brother Robert Landing. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: sisters Shirley Graham, Eva Fay Jackson, Terry Young, and brother Jerry Landing.
Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. No viewing or visitation is planne
