Marian Blanche Kneedler, age 92, of Springfield, passed away September 18, 2013. She was born Oct. 19, 1920 in St. Louis, MO where she met her husband, Hugh Kneedler, they were blessed with 56 years of marriage and four children. Marian went to business school to become a secretary, which she did before her marriage and after her children were grown. She did a lot of knitting and embroidering and she also enjoyed swimming, cross-country skiing, and traveling with her husband. She was also an avid St Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. Marian was a Christian and is now with the Lord. She was a former member of Maplewood Baptist Church in St Louis; of Friendship Baptist Church in Cedar Hill; and South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield. She is preceded in death by her husband Hugh A Kneedler, on June 9, 2003; her brother, Richard; and two sisters, Dorothy and Kay. She is survived by four children; Richard Kneedler and wife Perry of Spring Green, WI; Lynn (Kneedler) Alsobrook and husband Bob, of Vancouver WA; Sondra (Kneedler) Hollis and husband Bobby, of Nixa, MO; and Mark Kneedler and wife Dixie, of Anchorage, AK; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nieces. A memorial service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, in Springfield, on Saturday September 21, 2013 at 3:00. Marian will be laid to rest beside her husband in Jefferson Barracks, in St Louis on Monday, September 23rd at 1:15.
