Marian Elizabeth Collins, age 71, of Mountain Home passed away on August 30, 2025. She was born on June 23,1954 in Quincy, Illinois to the late Elmer and Freda Fleming. After she graduated from the Pleasant Hope High School, she joined the United States Navy with the purpose of seeing the world. Instead, her military service launched her into a new lifelong adventure, where she would meet her hero, Randy Collins.
They married in Feb. of 1977. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1982. She spent the rest of her life caring for and loving her children, Joe and wife Cris, Nancy and husband Thomas, her grandchildren, Ryan and wife Chloe, Jeremy, Sara, Caleb and wife Kelly, Anthony, Randi and Dominik, her great grandchildren, Camden, Jazmyn, Jaxon and Ava. She was forever after known as Grandma.
She also left behind three siblings Sharon and husband Lawerence, Robert and wife Naomi, and baby brother Stephen. And many more family and friends.
Mom was a light in the lives of all who knew her. Her life was marked by love, compassion, and adventure. She travelled all over for her kids and grandkids seeing all kinds of new things and places.
As her family, we were not ready to let her go, but she has been waiting a long time to join her sailor and start a new adventure. We will love and miss you Grandma.
Marian’s service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North Crematory located in Springfield, Missouri at the cemetery, on Friday Sept. 12, 2025 at 2pm.
