Marie D. Faxon 61, of Springfield passed away Sunday October 3, 2010 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ms. Faxon was born March 21, 1949, in Seattle Wash. The daughter of Jack & Letha Brandon. She was raised in Seattle with her eight siblings, before moving to California where she met and married Richard (Dick) Faxon.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings. The connection shared with her remaining siblings was always a deeply treasured and cherished relationship throughout her life.
Marie was an avid rock climber & scuba diver, loved hiking and gardening. She had a passion for the outdoors and was as lively as all the nature surrounding her. From Washington to Hawaii to California to Missouri living life to the fullest and making many treasured friends along the way.
She is survived by her three children, Edward Faxon & wife Tara, Auston Faxon & wife Karol, Estara Faxon & fiancé Dave Brooks, all of Springfield. Nine very special grandchildren and over 30 nieces and nephews.
Marie took pleasure in spending time with friends and family but especially loved spending every possible moment with her grandchildren. She was actively involved in each of their lives, introducing them to many exciting aspects of life.
Marie has touched us with her beauty, her caring heart, adventurous spirit and contagious smile. The precious memories that she has left us will keep us as uplifted as she was, until we meet again. We love you mother, sister, auntie, grandmother and friend.
In honor of her life, a memorial will be held Friday October 8, 2010, 1 pm at Greenlawn North Funeral Home. 3506 N National, Springfield Mo.
