Marilyn V. Pennington, 74, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at home in Nixa surrounded by her loving family. She was born Monday, January, 18, 1937, in Alvarado, VA, to Leslie and Eula (Larimer) Vaughan. Marilyn married James F. Pennington Sr. on September 13, 1952, in Mountain City, TN. She was a homemaker and restaurant owner during her adult life and enjoyed flower arranging, game shows, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Sr., and brothers, Jack and Charles Vaughan. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Diana and Frank Dennis, Susan and Richard Hogan, Sandy and Kenny Nelson, three sons and their spouses, James, Jr. and Dawn, Thomas and Melanie, Randy, Sr. and Barbara, eighteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy Smith, Fairfield, VA, Virginia Williamson, Meadowview, VA, Ann Pierce, Abingdon, VA, a brother, Jerry Vaughan, Demascus, VA, a special sister and friend Shirley Brown, and her old school pal, Hazel Milton, Lebanon, VA.
