Marion Dorothy Stebbins, 87, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, August 28, 2011 in her daughter’s home in Springfield, MO. She was the only child of Loretta and Christian Josephsen and was born in Brooklyn, NY, on August 2, 1924.
She was married to Robert Stebbins, son of veteran Christian and Missionary
Alliance missionaries, Irving and Mary Stebbins. They lived in Nyack and Pearl River,
NY. They later moved to Mays Landing, NJ, where Marion was a resident for over
54 years.
An outstanding graduate of Brooklyn High School, Marion first worked as a secretary on Wall Street and served as a Nurse’s Aide for the Red Cross. In later years as she raised five children primarily alone. She worked as a Quality Control Technician for Wheaton Plastics Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Mark Stebbins and great grandson, Casey Lotter.
She is survived by four children: Dorothea (and Kenneth) Lotter, Randy Stebbins,
Kathleen Saroka, Kristie Morris; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Marion was a founding member of Evangel Assembly of God Church in Mays Landing, NJ, for over 54 years. In lieu of flowers, gifts sent in her honor to the church would be her desire. The church website is www.evangelag.info. Evangel Assembly will announce a memorial service in her honor at a later date.
Services in Springfield, Missouri will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 3:00 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Reverends Lloyd Harms and Thomas H. Stebbins will be officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
