Marjorie A. Gregory passed away at the age of 90 on October 1, 2009, in Manor Care of Springfield. Marjorie was born August 29, 1919, in Eldorado Springs, Mo. She married the love of her life, Wayne S. Gregory, on September 20, 1942, in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lura Parkison; her brothers, Frank and Thomas Parkison; her sisters, Ruth Copeland, Ethel Doran and Betty Anxionnate; and by her husband, Wayne. She is survived by her son, John and his wife, Nancy of Springfield, Mo. Marjorie retired from the Missouri State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Marjorie, along with Wayne, was very active in the American Legion. She was a member of the American Legion Auxilliary at Post 69 from 1946 to 1980. She and Wayne helped found Post 676 where she was a familiar face to many for working at the Bingo games. She held many offices over the years in the Auxiliary and the 8/40. Marjorie was a faithful and loyal member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was a long standing member of the Wedding Ring Sunday School class. She and Wayne had many good years of retirement and enjoyed traveling around the country and taking cruises. She spent the last 16 months at Manor Care of Springfield, and was tended to by Seasons Hospice for which the family is eternally grateful. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Graveside services will be Wednesday, at 1 p.m., in National Cemetery, at Seminole and Glenstone.
