Mark Allen Clopton, age 43, of Fair Grove, MO, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at home. He was born October 25, 1967, in Springfield, MO, to Marvin Clopton and Patsy (Sanders) Pearson. Because of his love for his country, Mark served in the U.S. Army as an M.P. during Desert Storm . Mark loved playing music in a band and everything having to do with NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Clarence Sanders, and paternal grandfather Kenton Clopton.
He is survived by wife Lisa Clopton of Springfield; three children, Brandon Hunter of Kansas City, MO, Danielle Hunter, and Halle Clopton, both of Springfield; father Marvin Clopton of Fair Grove; mother Patsy Pearson of Springfield;five brothers, Marty Clopton of Springfield, Andy Pearson of Pleasant Hope, Jeremy Clopton of Springfield, Brian Clopton and Lyndon Kays, both of Fair Grove; two sisters, Tracy Clopton and Mia Clopton, both of Springfield; maternal grandmother Ethel Kaden, and paternal grandmother Christine Clopton, both of Springfield; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield. Burial will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the name of Halle Clopton.
