It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Ann Alexander, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on July 18, 2025, in her hometown of Springfield, Missouri. Born on November 13, 1931, to Jesse O. and Dorothy Mae (Weaver) Mitchell. She was united in marriage to Bobby Ford Alexander. From this union two children were born, Timothy and Cynthia.

Martha was a devoted homemaker whose nurturing spirit warmed the hearts of those around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially tending to her beautiful flower garden, where she would cultivate both blooms and memories. Above all, her greatest love was for her children as well as her adoring grandchildren. The time spent with her family was her most treasured gift.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Dorothy Mitchell, her husband Bobby Alexander, and a brother Robert Mitchell.

Martha leaves behind her cherished children and their spouses Timothy and Sherry Alexander, and Cynthia and Kent Shipley, as well as grandchildren Melissa and Kyle Easterday, Tyler Shipley, Lindsey Shipley, and Chase Shipley, and one great-grandson Owen Easterday.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a graveside service to honor Martha’s life on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, starting at 10:00 AM.

We invite everyone who knew Martha—whether through her warm smile, or her loving nature—to come together to celebrate her life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Martha will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
