Kimberly Deaun Cook Berry left a message on June 8, 2022:
Ms. Estes was a tremendous part of the lives of Central High School students; she was a kind smile, a warm welcome in the turbulence of teenage life. She gave the gift of her regard and trust to the students she saw daily; I lived in the library and jaunted the stacks behind the locked door of the periodicals room. She was a great part of why I chose to become a teacher; as the mentor of Future Teachers of America on our campus, she encouraged fkedgelinv teacher -want -to -bes and promoted the educational profession through example. Over the years and through many classrooms Joan has been with me; I think of her often, with respect, admiration, and love. I am truly and deeply sorry for your loss.
