Martha Mae Shay, age 79, of Carthage,
MO, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility. She was
born December 12, 1934, in Aldrich, MO, to Perry
and Martha (Copeland) Griffin. She was
a member of the Grace Point Assembly of God
Church. She enjoyed gospel music and playing the organ. She loved Christ, and remained active in her
church as long as her health allowed.
Martha always encouraged her children to follow the Lord and supported
them in their life decisions. Most of
all she loved being with her family and especially her grandkids.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; and two brothers: Bernard
Griffin, and Dean Griffin.
She is survived by her children: Kathy Fugitt and husband David of
Battlefield, MO, Karole Dodd and husband Gail of Climax Springs, MO, Wesley
Wilcox and wife Laurie of Choma, Zambia, Karen Cash and husband Jay of Fallon,
NV, Jimmy Wilcox and wife Debbie of Carthage, MO, Teresa Mulkey of Bolivar, MO, and Robin Shay and wife Kelly of
Wagoner, OK; 29 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; Carolyn Russell and
husband John of Bolivar, MO; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am
Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Pentecostal Church of God 329 W. High Street
Bolivar, MO 65613, with Pastor Larry
Graham officiating. Burial will be held
at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Aldrich, MO. In
lieu of flowers Martha’s wishes were to contribute to the New Day Orphanage:
3112 W. Ave. R Temple, TX 76504. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar,
MO.
