Mary Alice “Ali” Gerlt nee Weber, 58 of Humansville, MO died Saturday May 7, 2011 in her home. Ali had a successful career as sales professional and was clever enough to retire early. Her true passion was supporting the Stockton Head Start where she was fondly known as “Miss Ali”. Her other joys came from traveling, cooking and helping others who were having hard times. Ali loved her friends and pets.
Ali married Jimmy W. Gerlt in St. Thomas Virgin Island in March 1987 and shared 24 years with him.
She is survived by her Stepson, Chad Gerlt; Sister-in law, Sandee Gerlt and Carl Parker; brothers, John (Peggy), Carl (Sallie), Larry (Karen) and sisters, Jane and Margaret Weber; nieces, Emily (Ted) Butler nee Wagner and Anne Weber and Nephews, Zach Weber (Cynthia) Alex and John Weber.
Predeceased by her Mother Mary C. Weber nee Stoehr, Father Jack Weber, and Sister Roseanne Wagner.
While Ali was in intensive care she received a carving of an Angel called Brite Star – this to me fits her spirit. When you look into the sky at night and see a bright star – please remember Ali.
No services are planned, instead a celebration of her life will be held at a future date. Anyone wishing to make a donation may make it to West Central Community Action Agency Stockton Head Start ( WCMCAA Stockton Head Start) 14246 E Highway 32 Stockton, MO 65785 -“Those whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before. They are now wherever we are.”
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO.
