Their first son, Charles Richard Rouch, was born January 11, 1955. Then their beautiful little girl, Deborah Sue Rouch, was born on October 3, 1957. Ann was able to develop her gift for song writing and poetry during the farming years. They moved to Springfield, Missouri to prepare for ministry in 1969. As most of you know from her thoughtful notes and cards, she had beautiful handwriting and was known to break into a song for any occasion. She also loved lots of chocolate and magnolias.
As a pastor’s wife in Sheridan, Wyoming, she creatively prepared all of her lessons and taught Sunday School, played the piano, drove the church van, and was fruitful in having the privilege to lead ladies and children to the Lord. She was always a mighty prayer warrior and loved bringing your name before the Lord as you shared prayers requests with her. Her favorite verse from Scripture was Isaiah 41:10.
Mary Ann Harrison was born on October 18, 1934 in Newton, Kansas. She was the daughter of Claude and Nelva Harrison and lived in Arkansas City, Kansas.
She worked at Long’s Drug Store, and that’s how she met a handsome young man who loved free strawberry milkshakes. Ann and Marvin were married at the Nazarene Church in Arkansas City, Kansas on October 26, 1952. They just celebrated 63rd anniversary a few weeks ago.
They farmed West of Arkansas City; however, Ann grew up as a city girl and had lots of fun learning to feed a harvest crew!
She had six grandchildren (Jeremy, Becky, Jamie, Matt, Rachel & Taylor) whom she dearly loved and thirteen great grandchildren whom she proudly displayed photos of on her mantel and was able to recite all of their names in birth order. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed, but the wonderful memories she created with her family and friends will live on forever.
Ann also was very close to Marvin’s sisters, Margie, Jean & Phyllis. They al-ways felt like real sisters throughout all of their lives.
While she will be so missed here by all of us, we rejoice to know that she is with her Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven.
