Mary D. Griffin was born September 8, 1930, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Lue S. and Gladys H. Holley. Mary was united in marriage on December 20, 1947, in Springfield, to James W. Griffin. Mary loved the Lord and was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit at a young age. She retired from S.M.S., in 1992, with Emeritus Status. She loved to be with her family, especially during holiday dinners, birthday celebrations, and get-togethers. She enjoyed taking photos to capture these memorable times with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lue S. Holley; mother, Gladys H. Holley. She is survived by her husband of more than 62 years, James W. Griffin (her Jim); two daughters and their spouses, Sharon K. and Danny Johnson, Kathleen S. and Bill Burton; four grandchildren, Michelle Stewart, Anita Summerlin, Matt Burton, and Todd Burton; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in Greenlawn North, on Wednesday, July 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. Following visitation, graveside services will be officiated by Reverend Rosalee Dunn.
