Mary Dean (Cornett) Reed daughter of Condy Dean Cornett and Verbail Rosealie (Cox) Cornett was born on February 13, 1930, in Springfield, Missouri and passed away December 5, 2025, at the age of 95. Mary was united in marriage to James (Jim) Ralph Reed, the love of her life, on July 1, 1950.
Mary worked at Lily Tulip and Royal McBee Typewriter in her early years. She loved working on the family farm where they raised beef cattle and at one time also had a working dairy. She would put out a huge garden every year. Mary enjoyed going to Lady Bear games and going fishing. She loved to fish with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church.
Mary Dean was preceded in death by her parents Condy and Verbail Cornett, her husband James Reed, her Grandson James Bonner, her sisters Nancy Todd, Doris Lambeth, Juanetta Plumb, Juanita Dixon and Kay Whittaker.
She is survived by her children Carolyn Mullin, Debbie Wood and husband Jack, Ralph Reed and wife Becki, her grandchildren Justine Flannigan and husband Nick, Trenton Reed, and her late grandson James Bonner’s wife Tracy, great grandchildren Ruby Bonner, Ryann Flannigan, Madden Flannigan and her siblings Wondy Cornett, Shirley Johnson and Jo Johnson and many other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North followed by Funeral services on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10:00 am also at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North. Burial will immediately follow at Mount Comfort Church Cemetery.
