Mary Ellen Moore, 92, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024 while at her home surrounded by family and loving friends. Mary Ellen Moore, 92, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024 while at her home surrounded by family and loving friends. Mary was devoted to her family and greatly enjoyed Cardinals baseball. She was a member of Nixa Church of Christ, a recognized volunteer and enjoyed reading, close friends and summers at the lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Effie Melton, and her husband, James Moore. She is survived by her son, James; daughter, Linda Wright and husband, Daniel; grandchildren Shawn Paris, Brandon and Kegan Moore, and Trent and Nicole Wright; great grandchild Mia Moore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Mary will be Tuesday, April 30 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, at 9:30 am with visitation at 9 am. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans and the Nixa Education Foundation.
