Mary Jo Dodson, beloved wife of John W. Dodson, Sr, left this earth to join him April 27, 2019 at the young age of 81. She was born April 1, 1938, to parents Frank and Frances McGoon in Springfield, Mo at Burge Hospital. Mary worked at Pearl and Verns for 20 years. She was dearly loved and cherished by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Porchet. Her sisters, Judy (Roy) Phillips, Marshfield, Mo. Sue Hash, Palistine, Texas. Step children, Jane (John) Fruehwirth, Brandon, SD, John W. Dodson (Becky) Omaha, NE and Jennifer (Dan) Dawson, Springfield, Mo. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, John and Anna Fruehwirth, Christine (James) Saroka, Omaha, NE Melissa (Stacey) Bockorny, Denver, Co., Tiffany (Mike) Brookhouser, Denver, CO and Andrew Stewart, Colorado Springs, CO.
Her great grandchildren are Luke, Elle, Johnnie and Kora. Her nephews and nieces are Kristin and Cliff Phillips, Debbie Lewis and Jimmy Hash. Two special cousins are Larry and Bonnie Rust and Harold Keith and Mary Ann McGoon.
Mary Jo had special friends Peggy, Betty, Nadine and Lillian.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Francis McGoon, nee Petty, her brother Donnie McGoon and her late husband, John W. Dodson, Sr.
Graveside services to be held Monday, April 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mary is free now to walk to her next journey into heaven.
