Mary Kujawa, beloved wife and mother, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in the family’s home with her husband and son by her side.
Mary was a registered nurse in her professional life serving in the Veteran’s Hospital during World War II. She received a commendation as the “Most Congenial Nurse”.
Mary was born on October 29, 1921 in Simms, Illinois and fell in love with, and married, an Air Force flight engineer, Walt, in 1945. Theirs was a World War II love story lasting 62 years.
Mary was known by her kindness, understanding, compassion and sympathy towards others throughout her life; towards patients, family, friends; everyone. Mary lived as a Christian example:
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Visitation will be in Greenlawn Funeral Home South on Thursday, May 30 , 2013 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
A funeral service will be held in Missouri Veterans’ Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood, in Springfield on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
