Mary Lee Ray, beloved mother and cherished friend, was born on August 18, 1930, in Springfield, Missouri, to Cummorah and Roy McNabb. She elegantly journeyed through life until she passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Mary is reunited with her late husband, David Lee Ray, who precedes her in death.
A proud member of the Springfield High School Class of 1949, Mary dedicated her life to being a wonderful homemaker. She embraced her roles with love and grace, always filling her home with warmth, laughter, and the delightful aromas of her cooking.
Mary had a special affinity for gardening; her passion for nurturing plants blossomed just as readily as her love for family. She also enjoyed the delicate art of sewing and embroidery, often creating beautiful pieces that her family will cherish forever. Her favorite color, green, reflected her vibrant spirit and deep appreciation for nature.
Mary leaves behind a loving legacy through her three devoted children: her daughters, Lee Darla and her husband, Daryl Fordyce, and Cathy and her husband, Brent Skelley, and son David L. Ray. She was blessed to be a matriarch of five generations, a testament to the love she cultivated within her family.
Her family invites you to join them to celebrate Mary’s extraordinary life during visitation on May 3, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM at Greenlawn North. A graveside service will be held at Timber Ridge Cemetery on May 5, 2026, at 2 PM, where we will honor her memory together. Mary’s gentle spirit and compassionate heart will be greatly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
