Mary Lou Presley, 84, of Springfield, MO., passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in St. John’s Hospital. Mary Lou was born on May 21, 1927, to William and Jessie Solomon.
Mary Lou was united in marriage to Everett N. Presley on October 19, 1946, in Kansas; to this union, two children were born.
Mary Lou was a long-time member of Central Assembly of God. She was a faithful volunteer in newborn nurseries, rocking babies, changing diapers, and providing loving care to babies for many, many years. She also cooked countless meals in the “Hogan Room” at Central Assembly of God for the youth groups.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Josephine Smith.
She is survived by her two children, Deanna Moxey and husband Roger, of Colleyville, TX, and Marilyn Held, of Bolivar, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sherri Noblett and Cyndi Adams, both from Texas, Kim Switzer, of Republic, Mo., and Brent Moxey, of Acworth, GA; and eight great-grandchildren, Chelsea Thomas, Baleigh Adams, Presleigh Adams, Ryleigh Adams, Lola-Reese Moxey, Corey Thomas, K.C. Switzer, and Jagger Moxey.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, MO. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 30, 2011, also in the funeral home.
