Matthew Wayne “Matt” Hembree, 66, Fair Grove, MO. passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024,in Colonial Springs Rehab, in Buffalo, MO. after a long illness. Matt was born on January 30, 1957, in Marshfield, MO. to Wayne Edward and Joyce (Chapman) Hembree. .He was a 1975 graduate of Hillcrest High School, He worked for 30 plus years as an electrician for Local IBEW 453, retiring in 2010. In his spare time, Matt enjoyed fishing, deer and turkey hunting, watching westerns, working on the farm and spending time with the grandkids, and especially giving people a hard time.
Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Dean Hembree, his father, Wayne Hembree, and his brother, Chris Hembree. On November 4, 2000, Matt was united in marriage to Susan Rice, in Phillipsburg, MO., she survives him, of the home, he is also survived by his children and their spouses: Danny and Melissa Hembree, Mandy and Jake Snyder, his step-children and their spouses: Jodi Vaughan and Brian Matuliewich, and Christy and Philip Chyka, eight grandchildren: Nathan Ford, Cody Clevenger, Blake Chyka, Chloe Chyka, Haleigh Snyder, Cooper Snyder, Olivia Snyder, and Noah Hembree, his brother: Mike Hembree, and his sisters: Vicki Cantwell and her husband, Ronnie, Deloris Hembree, and Fran Hembree.and his two close friends: Clarence Gould Jarrent Ray Black.
A Celebration of Matts life will be held from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to Rescue One
