Maude (Jo) Graves Williams, age 93 years, 6 months, 1day, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away Monday evening ,September 26, 2011 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar. Jo, as she was known to family and friends, was born March 25, 1918 in Van, MO, to James Monroe Graves and Nanny Florence (Albert) Graves.
She was saved at Oakville Church, west of Morrisville, MO, and a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
On September 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Glen M. Williams, and to this union four children were born, Keith, Travis, Gale, and Lynn.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen, and 16 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Keith and wife Anna Williams, of Humansville, MO, Travis Williams and Gale Williams of Dunnegan and Lynn and wife Cindy Williams also of Dunnegan, MO. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Katie, of Dunnegan and many nieces and nephews.
Jo provided a good home to her family, was a good cook and housekeeper. She often hummed hymns while doing daily tasks. She enjoyed canning garden produce and raising chickens. She also made homemade cheese and butter. Jo was especially good at crocheting and embroidering.
Funeral services for Maude Ester (Jo)Williams will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 30, 2011 at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 on Friday, prior to the service, in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
