Max Leroy Daniel, 90, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Cox South Hospital. Max Leroy Daniel, 90, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Cox South Hospital. Max was born January 18, 1931, in Ash Grove, Missouri, the son of Roy and Ethel (Smalling) Daniel. Max served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1953. Soon after his return he was united in marriage to Donna Mitchell. To this union a son, Glenn David Daniel was born June 10, 1956. Max was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, in 2006, his son Glenn, August 21, 2021, his parents, his brothers, Ray, Bob and Don, and his sister Evelyn Morgan. Max is survived by Delvan Mitchell, who was like a son to him, his brother, John, of Colorado. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Greenlawn South Funeral Home.
