Jay Jackson left a message on January 13, 2023:
My parents, John (deceased) & Rosemary Jackson were longtime friends of both Max & Shirley from First Baptist Springfield. In fact, they informed my dad of a lakefront cabin on Table Rock that had come to market right next to theirs! And that was that, my family had their forever spot thanks to the Mustains! So many sunburnt summer memories shared with them! My dad & brother built their new, big, sleek metal dock. Shirley proudly tells the tale of watching my sister April catching her very first fish off our dock (after hours of persistence), & not knowing how to unhook it, ran all the way up the hillside, pole swinging fish, passing the Mustains picture windows, to my dad on the front porch all the while hooting and hollering! Years later April was married at the lake. The Mustains graciously offered their cabin for April’s impending in-laws. It allowed our families a special time to bond the days before the ceremony. And, of course, Shirley had it buffed and spit-shined to an absolute glow! As time does, things change. But now, following Max & Shirley, April’s keep watch over the lakeside teaching the next generations how a single fish can shape a life. When the Mustains sold, an era came to an end. So to, Friday closes Max’s era. Praise God his memories live on in each of us! Please share our love with Shirley from April, Jay, & Rosemary Jackson.
