Max Ray Swain Jr. peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on September 5, 2019. He was born September 19, 1963 in Little Rock, AR. He spent his childhood in Springfield, MO, moving to Ozark in the early 90's. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1981 where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Kimberly Ann Rothermel. Max and Kim were married 37 years and to this union was born a son, Jayden Kyle.
Max was preceded in death by his infant son, Elijah Cole and his beloved step-father, Marion (Monk) Vest , as well as his niece , Brooke Nicole Hyman.
He is survived by his mother Sherin Vest of Springfield and his father, Max Ray Swain Sr. and his wife Tracy of Spring, TX, his wife Kim, his son Jayden and fiance, Megan Sherman of Ozark, MO. Survivors also include his granddaughters, Willow Grace, Audrina Paige and Madilynn Joy of Ozark. Max also leaves behind his sister Tammy Vich and her husband Clifford of Springfield, and his two brothers, Corey Swain and Casey Swain and his wife Allison, all of Spring, TX, a special niece, Kelia Anderson, her husband, Chris and daughter Elyssa of Springfield. He will also be missed dearly by his extended family as well as a multitude of friends.
Max's love for working with wood started in shop class in junior high which led him to the profession of building custom homes for many families in the Greene/Christian county areas. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting with his son, Jayden, and cooking for family and friends. He displayed unconditional love and loyalty in his business and personal relationships.
Max made his profession for Christ at a young age and currently attended Fremont Hills Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, with the funeral at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, at Greenlawn North. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Venue on Brick at 209 N. 2nd Street, in Ozark, MO.
In lieu of flowers, there is a memorial fund established at Old Missouri Bank.
