May Gilmore, age 95, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at Christian Health Care East.
She was born November 19, 1916, in Springfield, Mo, to Albert and Fredrika (Thackery) Ashton. She was a member of High Street Baptist Church. May loved her Lord deeply, and was blessed with many miracles in her life. May’s greatest love was her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty – six years, Charles Edward Gilmore; a son Jerald Gilmore; her parents Albert and Fredricka Ashton; and two brothers, Fred and Jack Ashton.
She is survived by her four children, Billy Gilmore and wife Marilyn of Springfield, Lavon Gifford and husband Ben of Springfield, Charles Gilmore and wife Judi of Springfield , Deborah Harris and husband Rufus of Springfield; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great – grandchildren; and six great – great – grandchildren; a daughter – in – law Sherrel Gilmore ; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. Ed Holt officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
