May Rose Donahue passed away on February 11, 2024, in El Dorado Springs, MO, surrounded by her devoted family at the age of 84. Born on May 20, 1939, in Chicago, IL, to Clarence and Louisa (Bull) Trowbridge. May was a beacon of love and joy to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
May was a remarkable woman with a kind heart and a contagious sense of humor. Her radiant smile and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone around her. She was a talented seamstress and perfected her craft while working for her aunt. She also passed down her knowledge of sewing to her daughters. May Rose also later worked as a school custodian for some time and provided a safe and clean environment for countless children.
She was united in marriage to Roger Lee Donahue. Together they went on many adventures till his sudden passing on November 21, 1995. She was also preceded by her infant son, Shawn Roger Donahue and infant daughter, Valerie Lynn Donahue, her grandson, Joshua Rogers, as well as her six brothers and sister.
Family was the center of May’s world, and she leaves behind a lasting memory in the hearts of her loved ones. Their lives are forever enriched by the love and guidance May provided.
May Rose leaves behind her six daughters, Renae Rogers and her husband David of LaCrosse, IN, Michelle McKeever of Pea Ridge, AR, Doreen Perez of Portage, IN, Candace Krivak of Springfield, MO, Tanya Dorman and her husband Bobby of El Dorado Springs, MO, and Marlene Donahue of Springfield, MO. In addition to her immediate family, May also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews whom she adored. She also leaves behind two brothers, David, and Norman Trowbridge and two sisters, Diana, and Melody Trowbridge. Her presence at family gatherings was marked by laughter and affectionate stories, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Her family will receive visitors from 2:00-3:00 pm on February 19, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, where friends and extended family can come together to pay their final respects. Following, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, honoring May’s life and celebrating the beautiful soul she was. This commemorative ceremony will serve as an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share their memories, and find solace in each other’s company.
She will be laid next to her husband, Roger, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana.
