Michael Dean Chalmers 73, Springfield, MO. passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at The Missouri Veterans Home, in Mt. Vernon, MO. He was born in Manhattan, Kansas, on July 28, 1949, to Clinton and Lillian (Robbins) Chalmers. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a retired Supervisor for a Heating Plant. Michael was a very active member and church officer at the South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church. He was President of the EMBA Square Dance Club and a member of the FFA. He volunteered as Santa Claus at the Missouri Veterans Home, and participant of the Body Smith Boxing Program. He also enjoyed camping and woodworking.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Judith Chalmers, his children: daughter: Christy Wojtowicz and her husband, Paul, son: Clinton J. Chalmers, step-daughter: Paula Jean McNab, grandson: Nathan Daniel Wojtowicz step-grand-daughter: Aubrey Kristine McNab, three sisters: Janice Chalmers, Evadne Olson and her husband, James, and Evelyn Ricketts and her husband, Delmar, and one brother: Patrick Chalmers.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2022, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with visitation one hour before services, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Burial will be Monday, November 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund or to The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
