Michael Harold McCarty, age 62, of Fair Grove, MO, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at Cox Medical Center South. He was born October 10, 1953, in Fort Leonardwood, MO, to Wayne and Joann (Collins) McCarty. He was a graduate of Willard High School and Missouri State University. Mike was united in marriage to Julia Summers on May 10, 1980 in Wesley United Methodist Church. Mike Retired from Sweet Heart Cup Company after 39 years. He enjoyed reading, music, writing, fitness, Native American history, and doing crossword puzzles. Mike was a simple guy who always enjoyed a one on one conversation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Joann; one son, Matthew Rush; and two brothers, Keith and Danny. He is survived by his soul mate, Julia Kay; two sons, Nathan Wayne and Aaron Michael; five brothers, Phillip, Gerald, Gary, Dan, and Charlie; seven sisters, Lynna, Melissa, Gina, Kathy, Susie, Barbie, and Kristy; one granddaughter, Lilian Rose; his second mother, Dorla Dean; and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be at 4 pm, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
