Mike Conway of Springfield passed away at the age of 60 on Saturday January 28th, 2012. Mike was born August 5, 1951 in Leavenworth, KS to Glen & Barbara “Merle” Conway.
Mike married Janna West on November 13, 1970 and 3 children were born to this marriage.
He was preceded in death by his father Glen Conway, his in-laws Lester & Doris West and Sam McQuisten. He is survived by his wife Janna and their 3 children: daughter Michelle Conway, Son Jerimiah Conway and wife Becky and son Joshua Conway.
6 grandchildren: Austin Jarrett, Olivia Conway, Austin Brennan, Jacob Conway, Madison Conway and Sophia Conway. His mother Barbara “Merle” Conway, his sister Barbara Jones and husband Gary, Brother William “Pat” Conway and his wife Marilyn. Brother in law David “Harvey” West and wife Pamela. His loving nephews and nieces and our extended family Robert and Lindsay Britt and their children: Jacob, Dylan, Emma and David. Mike also leaves behind many friends and loved ones.
Mikes family has many memories of him that they will cherish forever.
He loved his family and friends very much. Mike loved the farm in Lebanon which was one of his life goals to finish what his dad had started. He also loved hunting, working, piddling and going to Canada fishing. Mike was not one to sit still and was always there for everyone, no matter their need.
Mike attended and graduated from Strafford school in 1970. He attended Strafford Methodist church and was saved at a young age. He was in the U.S. Air Force from April 1971 to April 1975. The last several years he thoroughly enjoyed working with Brian McDaniel and his crew of McDaniel Excavating.
He worked for the Springfield Park Board, was an over the road truck driver and for Tindle Mills.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with interment following in Dishman Cemetery near Strafford. Visitation is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the funeral home.
